Reinforcement of aluminum and alloys with graphene has been intensively practiced by researchers in the past dozen years. The role Al4C3, which could be produced unintentionally or purposefully during composite production, was controversial until it found that nano-sized carbides were beneficial for strengthening composites. aluminum-graphene-nano-sized Al4C3 composites us using powder metallurgical method subsequent annealing. microstructure investigated light microscopy (LM), scanning electron (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission (TEM), high resolution HRTEM. Nano-sized at interface aluminum-graphene. formation a chemical bond between annealing proved. Lower values microhardness strength characteristics after extrusion are formed comparison those obtained extrusion. It supposed processes contribute more to reduction than its increase. presence strong is manifested failure pattern, characterized nano-platelets fracture semi-pulled out semi-slipped from matrix.
